DESCRIPTION:One of Mautic's biggest advantages compared to other marketing 
 automation tools is its high conformity with the GDPR and other privacy st
 andards. As open-source software that can be self-hosted\, Mautic enables 
 users to keep true sovereignty over their data and ensure that all relevan
 t laws are adhered to.\n\nIn this talk\, we will start by recapping reason
 s for following current privacy laws\, especially the GDPR\, as well as bi
 g-picture motivations for more privacy and data sovereignty.\n\nAfterwards
  we will jump into Mautic itself\, giving an overview of recent developmen
 t\, plugins and best practices for increasing Mautic's privacy standards\,
  including but not limited to:\n- The recent split of Mautic's core functi
 onalities from its tracking\,\n- campaign actions for anonymizing user dat
 a\,\n- sending emails with european ESPs\,\n- compliantly integrating Maut
 ic with other tools via n8n\n- and a new plugin for handling Double Opt-In
 .\n\nBut even though Mautic already does pretty well\, it still contains s
 ome typical pitfalls with regard to privacy. We will not only point them o
 ut\, but also provide best practices and fixes to avoid them.\n\nBesides t
 hese small traps\, there is still room for improvement. That's what the cu
 rrent Privacy Initiative is focussing on: Making sure Mautic becomes even 
 more privacy focused in the future. We will go over some of the initiative
 's goals in detail\, hopefully gathering more support for this important c
 ause.
